FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS

I have often said that I wish God would just send me a memo.

Then I remember that He actually did.

Does God’s will ever elude you, too?

So many times in my life I have been looking for a sign to know I’m headed in the right direction. So many years have been spent holding my breath, looking around the corner, waiting for the perfect this or hoping for exactly that.

But I am beginning to discover that when we fix our eyes too far ahead, we lose sight of what’s right in front of us.

And what if God wants us to just live fully and purposefully in this beautifully, imperfect now?

What if He is calling us to sit gratefully at His feet and take it all in, rather than running several paces ahead?

Yes, life is short and there is much to do.

But let’s take a moment to breathe in His goodness and exhale a prayer of thankfulness to Jesus, the One Who holds our past, our present and our future in His hands.

He will see us safely home.

“Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. “
