SAVE THE PEOPLE
“On 9/11, those firemen were running in for one reason…That was the mission. It was to pull people out before the building came down."
“Our Lord ran into the ‘building’ to rescue us…His mission has never changed…Save the people.”
-Pastor Chuck Lindsey, River Church, “This is What We Do” sermon, 1/17/21
Concrete exploded, dreams shattered, and life flickered in the shadows of the world we once knew.
A desperate plea billowed up into the September sky.
Save them! Save the people.
And Love came running; stormed the gates of Hell to rescue the one thing on earth worth bleeding for - another human soul.
For buildings and kingdoms have risen only to fall, yet no flutter of life goes unnoticed by our Creator, nor the faintest tapping of a buried prayer.
Save us! Save the people.
And Love emerged from the ashes, carrying hope-hope that beat true with the heart of God.
And Love laid down its life, a firm and sacred foundation on which generations will stand.
Save the people.
“No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.”
John 15:13 hcsb
