3 THINGS YOU CAN KNOW ABOUT THE FUTURE

"I know what I'm going to do tomorrow, and the next day, and the next year and the year after that."                                                             - George Bailey, It's a Wonderful Life

I hate to break it to you, George, but it's time to ring in 2024 with a timeless truth.

You don't know squat about the future, and neither do I. But God does.

At any moment, a phone may ring, a heart may break, a storm can rage, or a tank will hit bone dry.

Hang on to plans too tight instead of Jesus and your soul will experience a case of perpetual whiplash.

Best to buckle up with what you know about WHO you know, so you can rest secure in God's love as you wait for His plan to unfold.

1. God is with you.

He will never leave you or allow you to be consumed.

"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.

When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.

When you walk through the fire of oppression,

you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."

(Isaiah 43:2, NLT)

2. God is for you.

Even when the whole world is against you, God is not.

"The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?"

(Psalm 118:6, NLT)

3. God holds you firmly in His hand.

No one and nothing can unravel your eternity.

"From eternity to eternity, I am God.

No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done."

(Isaiah 43:14, NLT)

While you live out your wonderful life in this broken world, you'll never fully understand why things happen as they do.

God's ways and thoughts are much higher than any found on earth; His paths are beyond tracing out.

Yet there will come a day when you'll see where His holy paths have led. You'll know "what you're going to do tomorrow, and the next day, and the next year and the year after that."

You'll be giving Jesus the glory for everything He has done. So why not start today?

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."

(1 Corinthians 2:9, NLT)

Happy New Year, child of God.

Wherever you go, God will be there.
