JESUS IS OUR RESURRECTION

I prayed for my sick momma’s healing but witnessed a resurrection instead.

Because over the years, the love between us had slowly suffocated, been left for dead, and laid in a tomb.

And I never understood how a God of hope could leave those bones to rattle inside me for so long.

So even as Mom’s breath grew shallow, her body weak, the Spirit of the Living God arrived on the scene and called the dead to rise.

“You are my smart, beautiful baby girl,” she said, “…a woman of the Word…Trust in the Lord, Honey…Enjoy your life…Have no regrets..”

I inhaled those blessings; they surged through my veins.

Because when Jesus shows up in a room, a heart, or a relationship, no grave on earth can hold what He commands to come forth.

At that miraculous moment, I saw what I couldn’t before.

A resurrection from the dead is more powerful than a healing; the life that follows will never pass away.

Yes, Mom’s death was recorded on earth, but our love story is permanently etched on our hearts and Heaven’s walls; and that love between us will never, ever die.

To me, that’s a miracle.

There’s one waiting for you.

“Why do you like Jesus so much?” My four-year-old granddaughter asked me one day.

Because He brings life to hopeless places.

***

Jesus told her, I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.

(John 11:25, NLT)
