KEEPER OF THE STARS

Look up into the heavens! Who created all the stars?

He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name.

Because of His great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.

Oh Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles?

Oh Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights?

When we lay crushed and fallen beneath the midnight sky, God assembles an army of a billion ancient stars and commands them to march toward our rescue. 

Because in a world steeped in darkness, He moves heaven and earth to shine down upon His children who are called to bear His Light.

And there is no evil, no despair that can separate us from the Commander of the Stars.

No flame ignited will be extinguished; no star He placed will be removed as He calls us forth to hold out the gleaming word of life.

Like a mighty warrior, His Word pierces the night to illuminate our way, then bends down to gently gather each tear that glistens on our cheek.

The gracious King of the Universe will order the starry host still, so our unsure finger may trace the pattern of His glory etched upon the sky.

And though our hope grows dim and the stars appear to scatter into the deepest corners, the Morning Star has promised to rise and call each of His Light bearers by name - from the first star to the last-and lead us into an eternal day.

So lift your eyes above this present darkness, child of the Morning Star, and take heart. 

You are seen, loved, and born to shine.
