OH WOW

Macie was dressed like a princess in a billow of white tulle and lace - a tiny cherub chosen for the sacred task of parting the rose petal sea.

In her fairy gown, she became a miniature replica of the great day’s focus - the beautiful bride.

Each “oooh” and “ahhh” from the bridesmaids fueled her confidence as she wove in and out of the busy wedding preparations, only to come face to face with the greater likeness of herself.

Macie’s eyes grew wide in amazement as she looked up first at the bride, then down at her own dress, and then back at the bride one more time before uttering the only words she could find.

“Oh. Wow.”

Likewise, on an even more extraordinary day, those who have trusted in Jesus will stand before Him, taking in all His beauty, speechless before all His glory.

At long last, we will see Him as He is and we will be like Him - not because of anything we have done, but because Jesus chose to wrap us up in His own holiness and clothe us in His mercy to usher us into the Heavenly Father’s presence, unashamed.

A sinner free of evil’s grasp.

A storm-tossed soul hushed in safe harbor.

A weary traveler finally home.

Well done.

At long last, we will look into the eyes of One Who has known and loved us before we drew a breath.

Jesus - Who carried us to this Place.

Can you imagine that?

“Oh. Wow. Just wow.”

One day soon, my tired friend.

My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He really is.
